Bandhavgarh National Park : Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the famous National Park in India for wild life and Tourism, which is situated in the Umaria District of Madhya Pradesh State. In 1968, Bandhavgarh was declared a national park, with an area of 105 km� the area is increase over the forest Divisions of Umaria and Katni and total 446 km� at present.

This National Park has a great biodiversity, and in Bandhavgarh the tiger population is one of top known in India and Bandhavgarh national park also popular for leopards and deers. It is important place for wild life tourism.


The real home of all the white tigers living, at present, Bandhavgarh was hunting protect of the Maharajas of Rewa: their old fort still controls a hill increasing out of the jungle. In 1951, Maharaja Martand Singh of Rewa captured the first white tiger in this area. This white tiger, Mohan, is at the present stuffed and on show in the palace of the Maharajas of Rewa.


The Forest in the region of Bandhavgarh had maintained as a Shikargarh or Game preserve, of the Maharajahs of Rewa, previous to becoming National Park. By the Maharajahs and their guests the hunting was carried out, otherwise the wildlife was comparatively more and well- Protected. It was measured a good portent for a Maharajahs of Rewa kill 109 tigers, his highness Maharajah \"Venkat Raman Singh\" killed 111 tigers by 1914.

How to Getting there:-

By Air: Jabalpur Airport (164 km) are nearest airport from Bandhavgarh. The most suitable route to Bandhavgarh is to fly from Delhi to Khajuraho from where it is a five and a half hour drive (237 km).

By Train : The nearest Railway stations are Umaria (35 km), Katni (102 km), Satna (120 km) and Jabalpur railway station (164 km).

By Road : Bandhavgarh is connected with regular state or private bus service From Umaria, Katni, Satna and Rewa to TALA (Bandhavgarh). Taxies are also available from Jabalpur, Satna, Katni, Umaria and Bilaspur.
